HEALTHCARE NIGHTMARE OMG ZOMBIES!

Judging from what people are saying on-line, the world just ended with the passage of a health care reform bill via the reconciliation process.  Except that these people mostly know nothing about what is actually in the bill.  There is a cool tool that tells you how you will be affected, and it was specially designed to be so easy Republicans can even use it.  This was a historic bill in my opinion.  It wasn't perfect, but it is a step in the right direction. 

Some of the things that people mistakenly believe about the reform are as follows:

• Their income taxes will go up 40%.
• Baby killing will take 5 seconds, be available at gas stations, and get federally funded.
• Whatever insurance you have now will be degraded while costing you more.
• SOCIALISM!!!!

The truth is more like:

• No.
• Obama is going to sign an executive order to prevent abortions from being covered.
• No.
• YOU DAMN RIGHT SON!   I AM GONNA SIT AROUND AND LEECH OFF YOU!

The reality is that health care is so expensive now that when people work at reasonable jobs that don't provide reduced price health insurance, they often cannot afford it because of it's cost to buy outright.  Also, I would wager a guess that entrepreneurship is threatened because nobody wants to try to start a business knowing they won't be covered for those few years when they are getting things off the ground.  Now, the bill won't really help in the latter scenario, but hopefully a future public option might.
